Zástupci projektu Prague Food Waste představí výsledky výzkumu zaměřeného na měření množství potravinového odpadu v příspěvkových organizacích a domácnostech. Společně výsledky výzkumu představí i doporučení, které pomohou potravinový odpad v těchto organizacích snižovat. Konference se bude skládat z jednotlivých bloků věnovaných příspěvkovým organizacím (základní školy, domovy pro seniory a nemocnice) a domácnostem. V každém bloku budou nejprve prezentovány výsledky měření PFW, následně vystoupí akademik/akademička s odborným příspěvkem týkající se tématu a poté bude následovat diskuze se zástupci veřejné správy, zřizovatelů a praxe.

At the international week organized at the local Mendel University we organized a workshop where we shared with colleagues from foreign institutions the results of research identifying consumer habits in household food handling and perceived motivations to reduce food waste. In an inspiring discussion, we discussed with the workshop participants how to change consumer behavioural patterns and support the reduction of food waste in households.

As part of the Prague Food Waste project (SS06010276), where one of the objectives is to support the reduction of food waste in Prague households, we organized a workshop with representatives of public administration and other actors communicating with households on the issue of food waste.
We presented the results of our research showing what food is most often wasted in Prague, what households report as the causes of food waste, as well as the motivation of consumers to reduce food waste. Afterwards, we discussed with the workshop participants how and what to communicate with consumers in order to reduce waste and presented first proposals for a communication campaign.

The workshop took place after the press conference of the project in the premises of the Ministry of the Environment. We presented the results of the quantitative and qualitative research carried out within the project Digital Educational Resources for the Development of Environmental Competences of Consumers (TQ01000151) to the relevant actors dealing with the issue of waste reduction especially in the context of re-use and upcycling.
In addition to the results of analyses of bulky waste in municipalities, we presented consumer preferences and perceived motivations and barriers to sustainable behaviour in line with elements of the circular economy.

At the workshop we presented the first results of the Wasteful Generation project (TQ01000183). We presented information on what is typical for Generation Z and their behaviour. We then presented the results of a questionnaire survey to find out the food handling of Generation Z consumers and to learn about their communication patterns. Next, colleagues from VŠE, Save the Food, Inesan and Green Solution presented the role of retail in food waste, appropriate targeting of Generation Z, attitudinal determinants in relation to waste and the results of the analysis of mixed municipal waste.
